Writers Lounge

Raffles Jakarta

Why It's #3

A glittering space bedecked with whimsical Hendra Gunawan inspired panels and dramatic chandeliers, this winsome lounge is surprisingly quiet in the evenings and thus well suited for 'chilling'.

What's Good

The pitch on the ground is the Jakarta Sling. The cascading chandeliers however seem to provide visual persuasion for ice cold beer.

View Restaurant & Bar

Fairmont Jakarta

Why It's #2

The creative cuisine of Hans Christian draws in a good crowd at this stunning restaurant but its extensive wine list and designer cocktails make this one of the best aerial spots in Jakarta to sip and imbibe.

What's Good

Premium champagnes and good wines.

Westin Jakarta

Why It's #1

It is unthinkable that a stratospheric address like The Westin Jakarta should do without a crowning joint and Henshin is the splendid answer on that account. Set at the rooftop like a crown jewel sparkling with multiple hues and outrageous conception, this restaurant and club is imbued with funky Japanese accents which extend to its Japanese-Peruvian menu designed by Hajime Kasuge, its executive chef of the same descent.

What's Good

Issei, Nippon Smash and Sakura Maru. Cocktails here are the best in Jakarta.
