Intercontinental Singapore

Right in the heart of Singapore's heritage enclave stands the Intercontinental, a place of beauty raised over 2 decades ago that waxed lyrical with the Peranakan culture that used to thrive in this historic locale.

The InterContinental is not a huge establishment but maintains a looming presence in the fine dining scene with some of the best gourmet offerings in Singapore. Ash and Elm is a smoldering dining concept that would please the carnivore in one with a menu that offers a myriad of premium cold cuts and grills. Man Fu Yuan is a well loved Chinese restaurant that dishes out delectable Cantonese dishes with fine dining presentations.

The effort to welcome guests to this temporal haven is laudable.  Check ins here are speedy as lightning and over busy periods one is usually ushered to the comfort of the check-in lounge to wait out the process.

Recently refurbished to stunning results, the Intercontinental is a transcendent study of ID restrain where cultural accents gleam harmoniously from a modern space without so much as a hint of the garish excesses that tend to plague such projects. Emerging from the facelift are a glittering lobby bathed in light and rooms and suites as pretty as Tiffany parcels with a dreamy colour scheme of blue, white and gold. The public spaces are lined with plush living room compositions that invoke the familial welcome of a Peranakan home.
